Centene Leadership Pledges to Advance Workplace Inclusion
12/23/2020
Centene has long recognized the importance of a workplace that provides a supportive and accessible environment for all employees. Furthering this commitment, Chairman, President, and CEO Michael Neidorff recently joined business leaders across the country in signing the CEO Letter on Disability Inclusion.
The letter is part of Disability:IN’s "Are You IN?" campaign — a call to action for CEOs, investors, companies, and business professionals to further advance inclusive practices for people with disabilities. Disability:IN is a nonprofit resource for business disability inclusion worldwide.
Centene’s National Disability Advisory Council also plays a critical role in ensuring workplace inclusion. Composed of national leaders in disability advocacy, the council focuses on enterprisewide recommendations that advance disability inclusion in Centene's workforce and healthcare solutions.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the 75th anniversary of Disability Employment Awareness Month. Centene is proud to be named a 2020 Leading Disability Employer by the National Organization on Disability. Centene was also recognized with a 100 percent score on the Disability Equality Index as one of the Best Places to Work for People with Disabilities.
Centene’s workforce was further recognized at “The DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity": Leadership Accountability virtual event in November. Centene was honored with a No. 3 ranking on the organization’s Top Companies for Talent Acquisition – Women of Color list. The factors that determined the overall ranking for the list included:
- New hire & human capital management representation metrics.
- Onboarding practices.
- Diverse candidate slates requirements.
- Employee benefit practices.
