Achieving Whole Health through Behavioral and Physical Health Integration
07/28/2021
The likelihood of co-occurrences of physical and mental health conditions increases, as does the adverse effect on the individual’s quality of life if not treated concurrently. To address the whole health of an individual, integrated care must be delivered. Centene’s investment in technology, training, and tele-behavioral health solutions enables medical and behavioral health providers to better coordinate and collaborate on patient care.
A recent white paper from Centene Advanced Behavioral Health outlines current initiatives and recommendations for integrating care in order to help individuals achieve whole health. Recommendations focus on three main areas:
- Addressing condition-specific coordination through innovative programs
- Collaborating with providers for better patient care coordination
- Advocating for Federal and state policy that supports whole health
Centene's commitment to integrated care aligns with our holistic health and wellness focus as we continue to advance our clinical programs that address both behavioral and physical health conditions.
